Ireland's tolls rise by up to €1 in 2027
Transport Infrastructure Ireland approved increases for all 10 national tolls, with the largest hike applied to morning peak traffic in the Dublin Port Tunnel.

The Dublin Port Tunnel will charge drivers €1 more during the morning peak, raising the cost from €14 to €15 for southbound journeys toward Dublin. This specific increase applies only to travel between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on weekdays, with all other times remaining at current rates.
The board of Transport Infrastructure Ireland approved these adjustments for the 2027 calendar year. The decision covers all 10 tolls on the national road network, including the M50 and eight public-private partnership schemes.
On the M50, car drivers with registered tags or video accounts will pay 10 cents more per journey. Those without a tag or video account will see their fees rise by 20 cents. The current fee for cars ranges from €2.60 to €3.80 depending on the payment method.
Goods vehicles face varied increases on the M50. Trucks under 2,000 kilograms will pay 10 cents more if registered, or 20 cents more if using video accounts. Heavier heavy goods vehicles will see increases of either 20 or 30 cents.
For the eight public-private partnership toll roads, car and motorcycle rates on the M3 between Clonee and Kells stay the same. At all other locations, car rates will rise by 10 cents. Heavy goods vehicles over 3,500 kilograms with four axels will pay 30 cents more, except on the M3 Clonee to Kells section where the increase is 10 cents.
TII stated the tunnel increase aligns with recent approaches and reflects higher traffic volumes in the southbound peak. The board noted the change helps preserve capacity for heavy goods vehicles accessing Dublin Port.
