A weak cold front will move through the Philadelphia region by Halloween, lowering temperatures and ending a stretch of warm autumn weather. The front brings breezy conditions to Friday before the air cools further for the weekend.

Morning fog and low clouds are developing across the region on Thursday, with locally dense fog possible in northwest areas during the commute. Once the fog lifts, the afternoon will feature plenty of sunshine and highs in the lower 70s. Friday will remain mostly sunny and warm, with highs reaching the lower to middle 70s. Northwest winds will gust to 20 to 25 mph as the front passes through.

The Halloween forecast on Saturday calls for dry conditions and mostly sunny skies. Highs will reach the lower 60s, with temperatures falling through the 50s during the evening. By 8 p.m., the temperature is expected to be in the mid 50s. Sunday will be partly sunny and slightly milder, with a high in the mid 60s.

The extended dry period may continue into next week. Weather systems previously tracked for early next week now appear likely to weaken or miss the region. This keeps rain chances very low, with a few possible showers around midweek. The next substantial opportunity for rain may not arrive until late next week.

The 7-day forecast projects continued warmth following the Halloween dip. Monday will be partly sunny with a high of 69. Tuesday will turn warm again with a high of 74. Wednesday is expected to be very warm, reaching a high of 76.
