More than 19 precincts in Miami-Dade County will use different locations for Tuesday's general election. The change affects 13 specific polling places. Residents should verify their assigned address on the county Supervisor of Elections website before heading out. Unlike early voting, Tuesday requires voters to cast ballots only at their designated precinct.
Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Hundreds of thousands of South Florida residents have already submitted ballots during the early voting period. The remaining voters must complete their process at the physical site listed in their county records.
Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Jolly is scheduled to campaign in Broward County on Monday night. He described the current political climate as an economic crisis. Jolly stated that high housing and healthcare costs, combined with cuts to public education, prevent many workers from living in the communities where they are employed. He argued that state leaders have failed to address these financial pressures.
Republican gubernatorial nominee Byron Donalds will hold his final campaign event in Lee County on Monday night. Donalds said Florida has the capacity to continue thriving but must lower insurance costs. He also emphasized the need to make housing more affordable for residents across the state.
The U.S. Senate race is also active in the final hours. Senator Ashley Moody, who took the seat after Marco Rubio became secretary of state, is seeking reappointment. Her Democratic challenger, Angie Nixon, is campaigning in Broward County on Monday night. Both candidates are working to secure their final votes before the polls close at 7 p.m.
