Adults in Newington can sign up for a new book club that meets for trivia and discussion. The Crime & Cardigans group will hold its first gathering at the Lucy Robbins Welles Library on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Friends of the Library sponsor the program.
The library describes the initial meeting as a casual opportunity for amateur sleuths to connect. Attendees will play a trivia game and talk about future plans. The group will look at books, podcasts, and documentaries as potential topics for upcoming sessions.
Registration opened on Saturday, Oct. 24. Participants must provide their name, email address, and phone number. The form also asks if anyone needs assistive technology. The library’s event page showed 13 seats available at the time of publication.
A discrepancy exists in how the event is listed. The page labels the meeting as an in-person event taking place in the Community Room. However, it also includes a notice describing an online event where a link is emailed after registration. This leaves the specific format for the first night unclear.
The club is open to adults only. The town’s announcement and the library’s event page confirm the date and time. Members will use the first hour to plan the schedule for the rest of the year.
